London Borough of Waltham Forest engages 3GS to provide environment crime enforcement service
Published: 09/04/2021The London Borough of Waltham Forest has engaged 3GS to provide an environment crime enforcement service.
Kicking off from tomorrow, the 10th of April 2021, 3GS will provide a team of nearly 20 enforcement officers who will enforce a zero tolerance policy towards littering and other forms of environmental crime.
We know the vast majority of people understand it is their responsibility to discard their waste appropriately. Sadly, a significant minority of people do not care about the impact, harm and risk littering has on the wider community and local environment.
Part of our mission is therefore to educate and inform businesses and members of public that offences such as littering will not be tolerated and is an offence enshrined in law, under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Our message is simple; use a bin or take your waste with you and it is not acceptable to make your waste another person’s problem.
3GS acts as a proportionate enforcer, meaning that any fixed penalty notices (FPN’s) are issued based on need. Our aim is to reduce environmental crime for the long-term through education and information; and our enforcement officers will patrol and issue FPN’s to reduce street offences such as littering and dog-fouling.
Working closely with Waltham Forest Council, 3GS will promote positive anti-littering campaigns throughout the community highlighting the threat, harm and risk of littering to remind people about the penalty it attracts for doing so.
